Nursery Progress: Well small things were accomplished over the memorial day holiday. The one thing that was my biggest fear I took care of right away. When I orderd the crib bedding I had no idea the bumper pad would be so thick, it literally took up half of the cirb area this had to be changed right away. So I went to my local craft store and found normal crib bumper padding, went home and removed the old and replaced it with the new less fluffy kind that I can now see the matress in the crib. I should have taken a before and after picture it was so bad. I could have never lived with myself had something happened to my baby bc of that stupid bumper. So that is another item marked off the list.
I also lined the dresser drawers for all of the stuff that will go in there....what yet I am not sure that is till to be determined but I wanted the drawers lined in any event. I framed 2 of my fave sonogram pics and will hang those pretty soon. We went to Lowes and bought dresser knobs that I will paint and attach to the wall to hang them from. But for now I will post pics of the frames, and once they are up I will post an update. While we were out on Memorial Day we registered and hit up a decorators store on our continued quest for model boats, and we found the neatest lamp that has a mini sailboat as deco. Here are a few pics of the newest projects/additions.
We are still on the lookout for boats, so we have a plan. We are going to Hilton Head Island this weekend so we will look there and if we still dont see any that are the right size or $$, then we will just stop at Conord Mills on the way home. We know exactly where they are there. We saw them the last time we were there back in April. So one way or another we will come home with boats this weekend which will make us both happy at last.
We Registered: Finally we got this done. It was not as fun as I had hoped, these are big decisions and imporatant ones at that. I had my list ready and together so we just went through the store and did the best we could. I had Jordan look over it and she said it looked good with things I needed and none of the non necessary things listed. So I guess we did okay. Dr. Bosken is still telling me to buy the stroller and the medical staff will reimburse so I guess we will pick that up in the next couple of weeks. So for now I think I just need to look over it one more time and make sure I didnt miss anything....but then again what do I know I have never done this before. So it may be a wait and see game. Oh well.
Trips Planned for the Summer: We leave for SC Thursday and I am so ready for the sun I can bearly stand it. I need a tan soooo bad! I havent taken any pics of me since the 24 week one bc I want to get a bit of color first so we should get one taken of us while at the beach. Hopefully it turns out well.
We also got an invite to a wedding in OH over the 4th of July weekend for one of Tims college friends so we have planned to do that, that will be a fun night out for us to enjoy good company. The wedding is less than and hour away from the IL so we are just going to stay with them while there and visit. It will be the last time I will want to travel I am sure. So that should be a nice little get away weekend.
Tim also booked his flght to NYC for Mikes bachelor party the first weekend in August, that is the latest I told him he could travel so he is headed up there for a weekend with the guys bf Mikes wedding in Oct. I am sure i will use the time to get a massage and have some "Me time" I love " Me time", nothing beats it. ;)
Cell Phone Cemetary: Oh lord this is really a crime....I went to treat myself to a nice pedicure on Friday and had my brand new cell phone in my lap, and whoops it fell right in the nice warm water. So it was fried, and now I am stuck using Tims old phone that never has a charge....alas they have you in a contract that I just signed 2 weeks bf so I am stuck.....sucks!!!!! I have to wait till next May I guess.
Maternity Leave Update: This has been on me for so long I and I finally got resolution Monday. I have been thinking for months that when it was time to come back from ML I wanted to work out some kind of transition plan for an additional 4 weeks since I only get 6 weeks of ML. So I got a plan together and drew up a proposal just to show my point. I gave approximate dates and how it would work for instance.; my first week post ML I will work in the office 2 and half days and the rest from home, working my way up to 5 days by the end of the month. This way I get a little more time with little guy and we both can ease into the transiton of daycare. I honestly did not know what to expect I just made sure I was as prepared as I could be even checking with the FMLA/Leave office before making my plans final.....so I went in there gave my usual report wowed her with a few projects I have worked on lately and then asked for her input on the proposal.
She had no problem as long as the work got done.....I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was and what a relief it has been to know that I will get just a little extra time with him, I know it isnt much but better than nothing. So he will not be in daycare fill time until he is 10 weeks old. I am so thankful.
27 Week Appt: Went for my 27 week check up yesterday and man did he make it seem like the end is closer. I had to have my Gestational Diabetes test done that was no fun....I still dont know the results I should here tomorrow if they are bad they will call, if not then no news is good news normally. So we will see what happens. I watched a video on Anesthesia while I waited my hour, then the doc came in to see me. We listened to the heart beat that never gets old. He made a comment that he was listening to it through the babys shoulder so it was a bit muffled, I have no idea how he knew that but he is the expert right.
I gained more weight, he didnt say anything and I really dont care anymore. I officially give up. I will just continue to do the best i can at eating and exercising and what ever happens happens. I will not however cut out my twice a week treat of ice cream that is just cruel! So there if a girl cant have ice cream every now and then then forget it all completely. I will just have to get back on the horse when the baby comes. I am done worrying aobut it anymore. So that means so far at 27 weeks I have gained 24 lbs. There i said it!
So we are starting the 2 week appts....which i thought was really weird but maybe he does things a little different. So we go back on 6/17. Tim will go with me this next time since I wont have to be there so long. He loves hearing the HB as well, just gives us both that extra little reassurance that eerything is still okay. Hopefully as I get closer he will do another U/S to see how big he is getting, that would be nice. I know Tim really wants another U/S.
Whew that is it for now....I dont know that I can type anymore. This took me alsmost 2 days to finish I started yesterday and finishing today.....I hope to post pics of the beach soon. I cant wait! We will be on the road in less than 24 hrs! Yipee!!!! Oh and my shower invites will go out this week so let the games begin, I cant wait to share this special time with all of my family.
