Thats what I thought when I saw my paystub this morning. Yeah I am going to take a HUGE cut in pay once the new schedule starts. It stinks but then I have to remember the following points:
1. My family is getting optimal health coverage (which the cost of that crap really should be a crime)
2. Great childcare
3. A little extra time with my family mixed in there
4. I truly love what love my job and enjoy working with my physicians everyday.
There are the pros. The only con I have is that they dont pay me enough......right?
Oh well, I knew this year we would need to significantly cut back on things and I am reviewing our budget to see what can go. The first thing I see is the home phone. Not too sure about it yet but I am thinking Tim wont be too hurt by it he didnt want it in the first place.
Other things I see are better ways of planning meals, less eating out and just trying to spend as little as possible in the food dept. We spend way too much money on food all the while having a full pantry. Maybe for the next couple of months I will start cleaning out and getting rid of things so that when we restock I only buy what we need and not just in case. I want to try and cut the grocery bill in half, along with only allowing us to eat out once a week.
I need to really get serious and make a list to stick too and make it happen. Just like yesterday Tim went to the grocery on the way home, he got things for this weekend since he parents will be home. He brought in maybe 4 bags of groceries and beer.....get this $71!!! I was floored....we have to plan better than that. Once all gets back to normal and the family is gone meal planning is def going to have to begin. There has got to be a better way.
For now though I will take my pros and revel in them for a while. There is always a way to cut back and I will find it I promise. Glad I didnt spend too much on Christmas this year. Having a baby helped with that there was just no time! We will see how the next few months go and hopefully we can all adjust easily.
