Let the Obsession Begin

So it was decided over the weekend that in little less than a year Tim and I will travel with our best friends Katie and Ethan to a luxury resort in Mexico!!!!! Tim and I have been talking about taking this trip since AT has been born, but we knew we wouldnt be able to do it till at least next spring. We wont travel to this area in the fall anymore. We had a visitor on our honeymoon that we would rather not remember but we wont ever forget (did you catch that?) We will celebrate our 5yr anniversary 6m early.....bc of earlier mentioned visitor ;)

We pretty much knew where we wanted to go all along and it would be a blast to travel with K & E, they are a ton of fun but also know how to do their own thing on trips like this. So I had 2 resorts in mind after reviewing some of the options. We decided to go with the brand new resort Excellence Playa Mujeres, just north of Cancun. We have been to Excellence Rivera Maya twice before so we wanted to give the new resort a shot. Esp since we know the way the resort works and kind of what to expect....and who doesnt want to stay in a brand new resort right? It will barely be 3yrs old by the time we go....so still pretty new.

I originally wanted to splurge and get a Roof Top Terrace room, that had our own private hydrotherapy pool. But now that we are going with K&E we are thinking that swim out rooms might be better that way we can hang out together, guaranteeing (sp?) 4 lounge chairs together w/out hunting everywhere for them by the pool. Plus the price tag of the roof top room was enough to have Tim turn his nose and say.....we dont need this trip right now. So I caved and gave into them. If we are traveling with other people we might be less apt to use it you know?

They all gave me the go ahead to shop around for prices when they get released in a few months (yeah Im WAY early) and we can book something shortly there after. Of course my obsession has kicked into high gear just like it did when I planned our trip in 07. I am all over Tripadvisor, YouTube, and message boards soaking up as much info as I can (much I already know...and it looks so familiar anyway). Now this just gives me one year to lose 10 more lbs....if I cant do that....I havent accomplished much!

Here are a few photos of my Heaven....that awaits! Excellence Playa Mujeres Website

The Beach

One of the swim out rooms we are hoping to book, and you can see the roof top rooms above.

Interior of the room, all have standard hot tubs, flat screen TV, showers for 2, L shaped couch, and sun bed on the patio. All great improvements from the rooms at Excellence Riviara Maya. The Hot tub can be private with curtains and windows, or open completely to the patio. All really great touches. The room is almost 900 sq ft!

So here is what I will be missing since I am forgoing the Roof Top option. I hope I dont regret it....there is always the 10yr celebration right?!? Good YouTube Clip of the resort, and Roof Top Terrace Room

Weight Update:
Its weigh in Monday. Im up a little. 152.5. Not bad but not great. Im still under 155....baby steps right ;) I have done pretty well exercising but not the best on food this week and weekend. Pudding cups in our caf get me EVERY.TIME!

So since the IL are making their visit this weekend I am going to do a bit of meal planning. Im going to try and get meals planned ahead like I normally do to help me enjoy their visit more and for all of us to eat healthier. I also hope we can take advantage of the weather and get out and walk the neighborhood. I dont want to be rude and be on the treadmill all weekend so this is the next best thing.

I think I am going to pick up a pedometer too. I really would like to challenge myself to a certain amount of steps a day. A fellow weight loss blogger is doing the same. So why not give it a shot. Im taking Thursday off to get a ton of stuff done sans AT so I hope to pick one up while Im out, and start the counting that very moment. However it wont help me much while Im sitting in a massage chair getting my toes did :p

Im still not doing Jillian but I am interval training on the treadmill and it is kicking my butt! It is nice bc I'm engrossed in a mindless book at the same time. It makes the time go by so much faster! Im walking and running, and trying to get in 40 to 45 min on the treadmill if not every day then every other day. This is sad but it really depends on my childs mood if I am able to do this. I can just never tell after a days worth of daycare...he is starting to boycot napping while at DC and it doesnt help mommy when we get home :(

So heres to hoping I can keep my food in check this weekend and get out and enjoy the season and the company. We may hit up Old Salem for some walking around and maybe take in a Vineyard too. Nothing concrete but lots of ideas. While Im at it I also want to share a discovery this weekend.

Jennie-O Turkey Burgers! We were cooking out with K&E Saturday and I just couldnt do it....and by do it I mean put a hamburger in my body that has over 400 calories and 24 grams of fat. So I bought these instead. They were delish! You would never know once you put all the toppings on. Katie even had one with just cheese and she still thought they were great! I may not be able to convince DH, but this is my alternative now....no going back! I mean it!

Thanks for the review on the burgers. I really love turkey burgers, but it's been a long time since I've had one. I'll have to give those a try next time we grill!

Have fun on vacay - we are trying to decide on our Christmas vacay (yes you read that right! Im getting away from the Tour De Charlotte this year! But only for a weekend and somewhere local) and our Spring vacay to Mexico next year. We are taking Alex next year though.

Check with my TA on pricing. She was amazing. Cant say enough good words about her. I have emailed with her a TON since I got back. LOVE her!!! If you find a price she cant beat - she will be honest with you.
