Back story: I bring part of my lunch everyday. It used to be something small like a lean cusine and I would need something to go with it. So I would go to the caf and fix a small salad while my lean cuisine microwaved. Well at first I did well with the FF dressings....then I got pg and I started to get Ranch. We all know what Ranch will do to you! Well I got hooked (which makes me wonder..bc I NEVER get it at a restaurant). So further into my pg I quit being so good at bringing lunch. So I would just eat at the caf. Getting good and bad stuff along the way. They do offer veggies etc but I would always gravitate to the bad things and the little cooler that houses the puddings, pie slices, and oreo whips...you get my drift.
I couldnt pass it up! Well as I shamelessly say this....I STILL CAN'T! I have awesome will power at home....bc that crap isnt in my face like it is here. I have to have something to drink so I go in for water...and you guessed it pick up the salad with ranch, a dessert, and my lean cusine in the microwave. IT HAS TO STOP......if it doesnt im not going to kick these last few lbs. I just need to do it!
Heres my plan!
I picked up my water sweetener at Wal-Mart (crystal light). I still bring my lean cuisines, step it up and bring in a fruit cup since I have that "sweet need" after I eat. But instead of heading to the caf to microwave my lunch, go in the physicians lounge instead. I can still get my water there, since they have ice, and a water pitcher. Im not allowed to eat their food so that will be off limits. So the food wont be staring at me and I wont even have a reason to make it in the caf at all!
I can guarantee you if I do this for the rest of the month I will notice a diff. It will prob cut my daily calories by a third. Thus kicking those last few lbs. I might even be hungry when I get home...when Im usually not but I eat anyway....bc i dont want to binge later.
So heres to hoping these 2 small changes will bring big results.
Challenges:
- Up at 5:30am for cardio, strength training...whatever I can fit into that half hr bf my day begins.
- Eating only what I bring with me to the office everyday, and avoiding the hospital cafeteria at all costs.
Ill give an update soon! Wish me luck!

It IS hard to give up things that you truly love but know they are not so good for you. Especially when you have easy access to them! I think your plan sounds wonderful of eating in a whole different lounge!
P.S. - YES - we are the same! W/ weight, houses, etc. It's fun to read your blog all the time, but especially b/c we relate to a lot!
I think that's a great plan! It's so easy to pick up calories along the way, even when you don't mean to.
Good luck and I'm sure you'll see results -- on your body and in your purse.
That sounds like an awesome plan! My work cafeteria is also chock full of delicious food (I mean, an egg salad BLT?! Seriously?!) and it was SUCH a temptation when I was on campus. Not having easy access to their yummy cheeseburgers is another benefit of telecommuting for me.
I think one of the hardest things to do is to acknowledge what is causing a problem and then to address that issue. But you are doing it! I know you are going to love the results!
